The Canadian-Croatian Chamber of Commerce was pleased to host a Youth Mentorship Mixer at Baka Gallery Cafe on March 4, 2015.
The Chamber would like to extend a sincere thank you to all mentors and students who participated in the Mixer!
It was an inspiring evening and a delight to meet the wonderful youth from our community.
A student’s perspective:
This past Wednesday (March 4, 2015), I had the chance to partake in the Canadian-Croatian Chamber of Commerce’s Youth Mentorship Mixer. I can honestly say that it was such an amazing experience. All the mentors were extremely welcoming and approachable, which made it very easy for us students to interact with them, as opposed to being intimidated by them. There was a good variety of Croatian-Canadian professionals from different industries and they all had very helpful and relative information to share with us. The environment of the whole evening was very encouraging. I liked how students (including myself!) had the chance to interact with almost all the mentors, regardless of our intended majors or professions! By the end of the evening, we learned the importance of networking and that keeping an open mind is important. It was great to see all the high school and university students that came out to the mixer. On behalf of the students, I would just like to thank the organizers and mentors for this great event! Hope to have another one in the future!
