Baka Gallery Cafe (March 16, 2014) – The Canadian-Croatian Chamber of Commerce successfully hosted a reception with a presentation by HR Valentin Inzko, High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Office of the High Representative (OHR) is the lead civilian peace implementation agency in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The 1995 Dayton Peace Agreement designated the High Representative to oversee the implementation of the civilian aspects of the Peace Agreement on behalf of the International Community. The High Representative is also tasked with co-ordinating the activities of the civilian organizations and agencies operating in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

HR Inzko discussed his role as the High Representative, the current situation in BiH and future prospects for EU membership. The presentation was well received, followed by a question period which engaged the participants in an interactive and informative discussion. Alongside the presentation, attendees were treated to food and later Croatian wine while forging not only new connections but friendships as well.

In attendance amongst Chamber members and guests were Mr. Ted Optiz, MP, Etobicoke Centre, Mr. Ljubinko Matesic, Consul General, Consulate of the Republic of Croatia – Mississauga and Mr. Mithat Pasic, Consellor & Charge d’Affaires for BiH.  Also in attendance were Ivan Grbesic and Caroline Spivak, representatives of Canada on the Advisory Council to the Government of the Republic of Croatia for Croatians Living Abroad.

The Chamber would like to thank HR Inzko, the attendees and special guests and The Baka Gallery Cafe for a successful afternoon.
