The National Capital Region Croatian Folklore Ensemble CROATOAN is a non-profit incorporated in Ontario and founded in 1978. Over the last 40 years, CROATOAN has been an active participant in the cultural life of the Nation’s Capital, performing at various venues and festivals in the region, in other parts of Canada and the U.S.A. Our group strives to introduce and foster a love of Croatian folklore among Canadians of Croatian heritage, as well as anyone else that is interested in learning about Croatian folkloric traditions. Today the Ensemble numbers over 80 members in five dance groups and five tambura orchestras ranging in age from 5 years old to senior citizens.
