4th Annual Croatian Community Night celebrated with the Toronto Raptors 🏀

Fans took part in “Croatian Community Night” in Toronto on February 2, wearing traditional red and white checkers and jerseys and showing off their Croatian pride while supporting the Toronto Raptors against the LA Clippers.

In a memorable celebration of Croatian heritage, the event, which was co-hosted by the Canadian-Croatian Chamber of Commerce, MLSE and the Toronto Raptors, was attended by families, friends and members of the Croatian-Canadian community. Including guests who joined us from as far as Calgary, Alberta and Varaždin, Croatia!

Following the 115-108 win by the Raptors (their eighth win in the past 10 games) we were joined by Jamal Magloire. Jamal is a Canadian former 12 season NBA professional basketball player and ambassador for the Toronto Raptors. He was the first Canadian born player to be signed by the Toronto Raptors in 2011 🇨🇦

We were treated to a special surprise when Jack Armstrong, sportscaster for the Toronto Raptors on TSN stopped by to share a few words and say hello.

It was no surprise however when the excitement reached a whole new level, as Ivica Zubac the Croatian star center for the LA Clippers joined us.

We are thrilled to see one of our own representing Croatia on the NBA stage. His presence was the perfect highlight to cap off an unforgettable afternoon, bringing our community together in a shared moment of pride and celebration.

Ivica’s journey from Europe to the NBA is a testament to Croatia’s basketball legacy 🇭🇷

Special thanks to all those who attended, including notably Vice Skračić, Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia in Canada, Ante Jović, the Consul General of the Republic of Croatia in Mississauga, Walter Sudetic, the MLSE, and the Toronto Raptors.
