Thank you to everyone who has supported the Croatia Global Earthquake Relief Fund.
We are actively continuing to monitor the ongoing crisis in Croatia following the devastating earthquakes that struck near the towns of Petrinja and Sisak, causing major damage and loss of life. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of those who died and are injured, all those impacted, as well as with the first responders and volunteers who continue in their efforts to help.
We know that the widespread damage to homes, hospitals, kindergartens, churches and other buildings has left many families in need. Many of these same families, in the Banovina region, also suffered greatly during the Homeland War.
As global Croatian organizations, we stand united with our homeland and are identifying opportunities where our help will be most meaningful. All funds raised will be used to help those most affected by the earthquake.
Among others, we have had the opportunity to talk to Dr. Tomislav Dujmenovic, Head of Sisak Hospital, Tomislav Fabijanic, Croatian Institute of Emergency Medicine, Matea Brizic, main coordinator of Red Cross for the Sisak-Moslavina County, Durdica Pavesic-Herkov, Principal of Vrbina Children’s Home and Stjepan Kostanjevic, Mayor of Glina for first hand reports about the situation on the ground.
An update regarding the first phase of the distribution of funds will be forthcoming shortly. If you have not yet donated, and are in position to do so, please consider contributing to:
