Ivan T. Grbešić

Ivan Grbesic is a partner at Stikeman Elliott LLP, one of Canada’s leading business law firms (www.stikeman.com). Based in Toronto, he practises corporate and securities law, with emphasis on corporate finance transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate reorganizations. He is frequently involved in cross-border and international transactions and is experienced in dealing with subtleties of cross-cultural issues encountered in international transactions.

Ivan is recognized for his legal expertise by a number of national and international publications, including Chambers Global’s The World’s Leading Lawyers for Business, The Best Lawyers in Canada, The International Who’s Who of Mining Lawyers, and The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory.

Ivan actively volunteers his time with a number of not-for-profit organizations. In addition to his involvement with the Canadian-Croatian Chamber of Commerce, he serves as the Chair of the Endowment Council of the Canadian First World War Internment Recognition Fund (www.internmentcanada.ca) and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Tribute to Liberty (www.tributetoliberty.ca). He has also been appointed in 2013 by the Government of the Republic of Croatia to serve as a Representative of the Croatian Diaspora (Canada) on its Advisory Council for Croats Abroad.

He is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada and holds Bachelor of Political Science (International Relations) and Bachelor of Laws degrees. He is fluent in English, French and Croatian. He is married with four young children.
