Scholarship and bursary awards were presented to Ivana Kajic, Ivana Osojnicki, Nicholas Vukelic, Damien Sabljak, Liam Hrvoje Kunic, Ana Mrazovac, Tomislav Stanic and Mikaela Pavlovic.
Following the award presentations, Frank Mahovlich engaged in a “fireside chat” with Ivan Grbešić. Frank spoke about his Croatian roots – his father left Gornji Oštrc in Žumberak, Croatia in 1928 and was later joined by his mother after he had settled in Timmins, Ontario. He talked about his early years, six Stanley Cups (four with the Toronto Maple Leafs and two with the Canadiens Montréal) and his experience relating to the 1972 Summit Series. Truly a great opportunity for the over 600 guests in attendance to hear from a Croatian-Canadian hockey legend.
T.S. Frajeri and Tomislav Nosic provided entertainment for the evening which was capped off with excellent service from the Burlington Convention Centre and outstanding audio visuals by JD Shows!
