2015 Večernji List Person of the Year Nominees!
Večernji List has announced ten nominees for their prestigious 2015 Person of the Year Award.
Among the 10 nominees is the President of CCBN (Canadian-Croatian Business Network), Joe Bašić.
Although the Person of the Year will be decided by a panel of 11 prominent public figures and by Večernji List editors and journalists, readers can also cast their vote at www.vecernji.hr.
The winner will be announced on January 22, 2016 at the Hotel Esplanade in Zagreb, Croatia.
Večernji List about Joe – “Čovjek koji je u Split doveo Ultra festival, najveći svjetski brend elektroničke glazbe. Ta megamanifestacija smjestila je Split visoko na globalnoj ljestvici turističkih destinacija. Grad je u nekoliko dana festivala ostvario više od 150 tisuća dolazaka i 300 tisuća noćenja. Joe Bašić rođen je u Kanadi, dijete je hrvatskih emigranata iz Like, bio je event menadžer velikih svjetskih tvrtki, ali 1997. odlučio se vratiti u Hrvatsku i pokrenuti privatni biznis’.

This mega event has positioned Split high on the global scale of tourist destinations. In just a few days, the city received more than 150,000 visitors and 300,000 overnight stays. Joe Bašić was born in Canada to Croatian immigrants from Lika. He worked as an event manager for several global companies, but decided to move to Croatia in 1997 to start his own private business.”
