With 30,000 fans in attendance, over 700 Croatian-Canadian fans cheered Toronto FC as they beat Montreal Impact 2-1.
While our Croatian-Canadian youth rehearsed to take part in the pre-game ceremony, the MLSE organized a pre-game celebration with special guests Zaprešić Boys, where together we participated in the chants and songs from last summer’s World Cup.
On the field, it was with great pride the children wore their Croatian soccer jerseys while holding the Canadian flag/banners and singing “O Canada” – honouring both great nations while others participated as player escorts.
