She holds a master’s degree in aeronautical engineering and has been a military helicopter pilot since 2008 subsequently becoming a flight instructor and test pilot. Born on August 15\, 1984 in Nova Gradiška\, Antonija completed her studies in aeronautics at the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences in 2008. She became a military helicopter pilot and\, immediately following graduation\, was employed with the 393rd helicopter squadron in Zadar. In 2010\, she became a flight instructor\, and in 2015\, a test pilot on Bell 206B light helicopters. In 2022\, Antonija was promoted to the rank of air force Major. She is one of only eight female military pilots in Croatia. In her free time\, she is professionally and intensively engaged in fitness\, where she helps other women to maintain their health through exercise and proper nutrition\, and to build self-confidence by taking care of their bodies. DESCRIPTION:The Canadian-Croatian Chamber of Commerce will host the 18th Annual Business Excellence Awards Gala on Friday\, May 13\, 2022 at the Burlington Convention Centre\, 1120 Burloak Drive\, Burlington\, Ontario\, opening with cocktails at 6:00 p.m. \nThe awards evening is designed to formally recognize leadership\, innovation and excellence within the Croatian-Canadian community and significant contributions by Croatian-Canadians to Canadian society as a whole. \nThis exceptional evening will include a keynote address by special guest AJ Piplica\, Founder\, CEO\, Hermeus Corporation. \nHermeus\, an Atlanta-based startup is developing hypersonic aircraft and is testing a new type of engine which will eventually be capable of reaching Mach 5 speeds (over 3\,000 mph). They are charting a future for hypersonic transport\, which if successful will revolutionize commercial transatlantic flights. \nHypersonic travel happens at speeds of Mach 5 — five times the speed of sound. That would get an aircraft from New York to London in just 90 minutes! \nThe Hermeus founders include former employees from SpaceX\, Elon Musk’s rocket start-up\, and Blue Origin\, Jeff Bezos’ secretive space venture. SUMMARY:(Webinar) Space collaboration between the EU and Canada
DESCRIPTION:Canada and the European Union have been collaborating in the space sector since the early 1970s. Formal cooperation began in 1979 with the signing of the first Cooperation Agreement between the European Space Agency (ESA) and the Canadian Space Agency. The Agreement has been renewed five times since then\, and expanded to focus on innovation and competitiveness\, as well as developing new knowledge and skills across the space sector. Attesting to the vitality of this cooperation\, the Canadian Space Agency\, ESA & NASA successfully launched in December 2021 the James Webb Space Telescope (Webb) – the most complex and powerful space telescope ever built. \nStill the potential to deepen this political and industrial cooperation is huge. The use of space systems and technologies is increasingly important to address some of the defining issues of our time – from ensuring a sustainable use of natural resources\, to protecting the environment\, providing safety\, security and a high quality of life\, responding to disasters and crises\, or understanding and combating climate change. \nIn this webinar\, panelists will provide an overview of the EU-Canada cooperation in the space sector\, at institutional and business levels\, and discuss potential opportunities for future development.
