It is about a search for identity; simmering beneath this need is a quest for faith\, connection and redemption. \nThe “Sixth Bus” is a search for truth in a place where truth is selective\, elusive and even feared. DESCRIPTION:The Canadian-Croatian Chamber of Commerce will host the 18th Annual Business Excellence Awards Gala on Friday\, May 13\, 2022 at the Burlington Convention Centre\, 1120 Burloak Drive\, Burlington\, Ontario\, opening with cocktails at 6:00 p.m. \nThe awards evening is designed to formally recognize leadership\, innovation and excellence within the Croatian-Canadian community and significant contributions by Croatian-Canadians to Canadian society as a whole. \nThis exceptional evening will include a keynote address by special guest AJ Piplica\, Founder\, CEO\, Hermeus Corporation. \nHermeus\, an Atlanta-based startup is developing hypersonic aircraft and is testing a new type of engine which will eventually be capable of reaching Mach 5 speeds (over 3\,000 mph). They are charting a future for hypersonic transport\, which if successful will revolutionize commercial transatlantic flights. \nHypersonic travel happens at speeds of Mach 5 — five times the speed of sound. That would get an aircraft from New York to London in just 90 minutes! \nThe Hermeus founders include former employees from SpaceX\, Elon Musk’s rocket start-up\, and Blue Origin\, Jeff Bezos’ secretive space venture. SUMMARY:ONE CROATIA Worldwide Celebration
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a 90-minute virtual program that will highlight our joint fundraising efforts and all those involved in the Banovina Earthquake Relief Fund organized by the ONE CROATIA Initiative. We will hear from task members\, dignitaries and beneficiaries that received our donations. There will also be live musical performances from prominent Croatian artists and an opportunity for attendees to mingle. \nThe global Croatian community organized a unified effort to raise funds to help those in need after an earthquake and its aftershocks have brought loss of life and devastation to the historic towns of Petrinja and Sisak in the Banovina region of Croatia. \nThe widespread damage to homes\, hospitals\, kindergartens\, churches and other buildings has left many families without water\, heat\, electricity and shelter.  Many of these same families\, in the Banovina region\, also suffered greatly during the Homeland War. \nMuch like in any times of distress\, Croatians unified in a common goal of helping those most affected.
