Opened in December 2018, the NEW Courtyard by Marriott Burlington is now looking for a Housekeeping Supervisor to join our team. The newest hotel to the Burlington/Oakville region features 135 guestrooms and suites with 1800 sq. ft of flexible meeting space, indoor salt-water pool, state-of-the-art fitness centre, and on-site Bistro Restaurant & Lounge.

Housekeeping is what gives hotels the ‘wow’ factor.  It’s the moment that guests walk into the hotel and are impressed, then enter their guestroom and think ‘wow, this looks wonderful’. To deliver a great guest experience, the Housekeeping Supervisor will be supervising the activities of the Housekeeping Department. Responsibilities

  • Inspect all assigned areas to ensure furnishing, guest rooms/suites, laundry facility, equipment, linens, and public areas are clean and in good repair to meet guest satisfaction
  • Inspect storage rooms, and room attendant carts for neatness, cleanliness, adequate supplies, and good repair
  • Ensure proper inspecting system takes place, managing the quality of Housekeeping and Laundry Services and to ensure timelines and efficiency of services
  • Check and maintain adequate level of supplies and material and request replenishment of supplies as required
  • Work with Front Desk and Maintenance Departments regarding the status of rooms ensuring that guest requirements are met according to Hotel policy
  • Ensure adherence to Hotel policy regarding security of bedrooms and keys
  • Assist in the daily checking of bedrooms and designated staff areas, laundry areas and public areas maintaining standards by Hotel policy
  • Ensure the safe storage issue and effective use of cleaning materials and equipment as directed by manufactures on their Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
  • Ensure the correct handling of lost guest property in accordance with Hotel procedures
  • Carry out opening and closing procedures as detailed in the standards & procedures while ensuring accurate completion of any reports
  • Assist with team member orientation and training within the department as required by Hotel policy
  • Maintain standards of punctuality, uniform presentation and personal hygiene as required by Hotel policy
  • Work and communicate in a professional and ethical manner with colleagues assisting where necessary to develop team spirit and to achieve standards of work and Guest care by Hotel policy
  • Monitor Health, Safety & Security standards within the department including training and compliance
  • Carry out jobs as required within the department to reduce workload or meet deadlines
  • Assist with maintaining par inventory levels and conducting monthly inventory checks
  • Help to prepare work schedules to ensure all jobs are covered in assigned areas
  • Schedule special projects, including seasonal cleaning of all guestrooms
  • May perform Room Attendant, Laundry Attendant or Houseperson duties when required by business demands

Required Skills

  • Minimum one (1) year as a Supervisor strongly preferred with two (2) years’ experience in housekeeping department an asset
  • Able to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Proven cleaning ability with full attention to details

To deliver a great guest experience, the Maintenance Supervisor will perform skilled work in the operation and maintenance/repair of all building systems, equipment and their component parts, in order to maintain a comfortable, safe, efficient and economical operation, conclusive to a first-rate Hotel. You will ensure guest satisfaction by responding to service calls, quickly diagnosing problems, recommending and implementing solutions and making necessary mechanical adjustments to the facilities systems or equipment. Responsibilities

  • To maintaining a high-quality physical appearance of the hotel through performing cosmetic repairs to ceilings, walls, tiles, carpets, washrooms, windows, floors, window coverings and furniture including painting, cleaning, and basic carpentry duties
  • Checks electrical systems such as air conditioning controls, television sets, lighting systems and makes minor repairs and/or replacements as needed
  • Performs maintenance to electronic locks, telephone systems and fixtures such as pipelines, toilets and sinks
  • Refurbishes furniture and fixtures within guestrooms such as cabinets, tables, chairs, doors, windows, and counters
  • Touches up paints and furnishes on doors and fixtures when needed
  • Handles guest concerns, compliments and suggestions in a professional manner
  • Follows all company and job-specific safety policies, and reports any accident and/or hazard immediately
  • Perform daily maintenance and checks of pool
  • Undertakes special projects and other duties as assigned
  • To assist other trades people and perform other duties as assigned
  • To receive and distribute materials/supplies and assist in maintaining accurate inventories including data collection and entry
  • To respond in a courteous manner to guest questions, complaints and/or compliments to ensure guest satisfaction
