Chamber Sponsors Croatian Consulate Christmas Reception

The Croatian Consulate in Mississauga, in partnership with the Canadian-Croatian Chamber of Commerce, hosted an open-invitation Christmas Reception for the community on Sunday, December 12, 2004.

The free drop-in event, held at the Croatia Banquet Hall, attracted over 2000 people. In addition to hors d'oeuvres of prociutto and cheese, the evening included a program of folklore with performances by both the Toronto church choir and a visiting choir from Croatia. On display were exhibits of Croatian knitwear and embroidery as well as an exhibit of photos of the Croatian Adriatic undersea world.

The Christmas spirit was apparent in the lively social gathering of friends and neighbours. As one attendee summed up the event, "It was like being in Croatia."
