The Government of the Republic of Croatia is announcing a call for nominations for Croatian representatives to be elected to the Government Council for Croatians outside the Republic of Croatia.
The Government Council for Croatians outside the Republic of Croatia was established on June 6, 2013 to act as an advisory board to assist in the creation and implementation of policies, activities and programs in relation to Croatians outside the Republic of Croatia.
Members of the Council are appointed by the Croatian Government for a term of four years, based on the nominations of the Croatian communities from their countries of origin. The term for the current Council is set to expire on June 6, 2017.
Nominations are encouraged for Croatian-Canadian community representatives from associations, organizations and institutions for individuals who are respected in the communities in which they live, engage in the preservation and strengthening of the Croatian identity and work with their communities and to improve relations with the homeland.
Nominations must include a letter of recommendation and a biography for the candidate. They are to be submitted to Embassy of the Republic of Croatia to Canada by May 15, 2017.
